Ministries

Interested in serving in UWCCF? We can help you, help us!

One of the greatest joys that we experience as Christians is found in serving one another. CCF has various ministries that we organize every term to give people an opportunity to minister & serve Brothers & Sisters, the greater CCF, and the UW Campus as a whole. 1 Peter 4:9-11

The following list contains various ministries in which you can get involved in serving this fellowship. We want to challenge by calling each of you to action! God has blessed you with many gifts to glorify Him, therefore use them to further His Kingdom!

  • The purpose of the A/V team is to provide audio and visual support for all CCF events, catering to the needs of the ministries in the fellowship. This includes the setup and configuration of sound systems, and the usage of hardware and software to visually enhance events. A/V team members needs to be mindful of the logistics involved in providing A/V support, and as such, need to show responsibility, tenacity, and the desire to see all tasks to completion. The heart of each A/V team member, as well as other brothers and sisters of Christ that serve, should be that of the servants Jesus speak of in Luke 17:7-10, where, "…So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’ "

No background experience with A/V is required for serving in A/V, as the technical skills are easy to pick up. A/V team welcomes anyone who is willing to fulfill the duties previously described.

  • "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God." 1 John 4:7 Using this verse as our basis, this ministry’s goal is to show the love of God to those around us, particularly within the fellowship. The ultimate purpose would be to make this ministry redundant, something that occurs spontaneously and undirected under our own individual initiatives.

As a single body of Christ, we are called to share in one another’s struggles and triumphs, to support, encourage and edify our brothers and sisters. However, many of us know that University makes it all too easy for us to get wrapped up in our own worlds of assignments, exams and relationships and forget about those around us. This term, we will continue to serve each other with traditional CCF acts of caring such as welcoming team, congee runs, and exam time cooking in addition to establishing a new focus on integrating a lifestyle of caring into our everyday lives.

  • What is IBS?

IBS stands for investigative bible study.

Investigative because we seek to investigate who Jesus is and what that means for our lives.

Bible study because we will study who Jesus is through scripture.

    Who is IBS for?

The focus of running IBS is to provide an environment where anyone interested in what the bible is all about. Regardless of whether you consider yourself a Christian or not, we want to want to provide the opportunity for you to dig into the bible and determine what it is saying for yourself. Christianity is all about Jesus Christ, and we want to explore with you as to why that is by looking into what the bible has to say about Jesus’ life, what He said, and why we’re so crazy about the cross.

There is a chinese proverb: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Hearing a sermon is like receiving a fish and being fed for a day. IBS is an opportunity for you to learn how to study God’s Word, so that you can be fed not for a lifetime, but an eternity.

IBS Ministry will meet every Monday from 6:30-8:30pm @ EV1-350 (Environment 1).

  • All around the world in these last days, God is building for Himself a house. And God doesn’t name his house a "house of programs" or of "preaching" or of "people" but a house of PRAYER (Is 56:7)!

God has designed the human body to run off oxygen, but to receive this essential element we have to breathe; In the same way, God has designed His Son’s body, the Church, to run off the Holy Spirit. But to receive the Holy Spirit, we also have to PRAY (Luke 11:13)!
If you are thirsty, weary, suffering or complacent, come, pray and receive from the Lord. If you are joyful and thankful, come, pray and give back to the Lord. If you are burdened for the church or for the lost, come, pray and see God work miracles. Not all are apostles, or prophets, or teachers, or workers of miracles. And not all have gifts of healing, or tongues, or interpretations. But ALL are called to prayer and worship: "rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thess 5:16-18).

Let us not talk too much about prayer, but let us just pray. So, come expecting an encounter with the Living God because that is what prayer is.

Official weekly prayer meetings will be held:
    Wednesdays 6pm @ 252 Westcourt
    Fridays 5:30pm @ MC 2035
    Sundays 5pm @ 179 Lester, Unit 3

“The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying.  He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray.”  Samuel Chadwick

  • Theme: “Living a life a prayer, where we receive the Spirit to go.”

At outreach ministry it is our aim to spur one another onward to share Christ to our friends in our daily lives. As Jesus said,“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.” (Luke 10:2-3).
Our main emphasis this term will be on prayer, receiving the spirit, and being obedient to the commission to go. In addition, we will be discussing various topics such as overcoming common fears in evangelism, testimony writing, showing the gospel throughout the Bible and making evangelism a lifestyle.

We meet on Thursdays at 4:30pm (Room: TBA).

  • Studying the Word On Radical Discipleship (SWORD) focuses on Christ-centered discipleship through the study of the Bible, with the intentions of serving and leading. By providing a biblical foundation, we aim to equip our brothers and sisters with an important tool to serve in the fellowship.

    SWORD focuses on:

    • Learning about the characteristics of a Christ-like leader
    • Equipping members in Bible study techniques
    • Mentoring members in specific serving/leadership skills

We hope to instill this definition of Biblical leadership: to lead by serving, by example and by faith in Christ and his direction, all for the glory of God.

This term we will be discussing controversial topics about Christian living, church, and apologetics. Our aim is to refer to the principles of the Bible and determine how to apply them in those controversial issues.
We will meet every Wednesday 5:30pm at MC.

  • Bible Sharing and Memorization aims to provide an environment where people can (you guessed it!) share and memorize the Word of God! We believe that it is important to both know and understand the scriptures, and we hope to facilitate this by encouraging one another with scripture, as well as committing scripture to memory. We meet after CCF on Fridays (announcements will be made during CCF), and we welcome all – whether you have something to share or memorize or not – to come join us in fellowship and edification!

  • You like music? Of course you do. You love God? I see you nodding your head. Well, have we got a little somethin’ somethin’ for ya. That’s right, for all of you who are interested in learning what worship is about, or how worship, prayer, and scripture all come together in our lives, this is your chance to get involved. Come join us at our weekly Worship Cell meetings, regardless of whether or not you’re interested in leading worship this term, for a time of discipleship, fellowship, prayer, and of course worship as we look to God’s Word to guide us. If you have any questions or you’re just feeling friendly, send us an email at worship.uwccf[at]gmail.com.

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. John 4:23.
