Get Involved

Welcome to CCF! We hope you can call this place your spiritual home where you can be challenged in your faith in Christ, and get the support and encouragement from all brothers and sisters.

Friday Nights

First and foremost, we encourage you to come out on Fridays @ 7:00 pm (usually in MC 2034, but check the Friday Night Announcements for confirmation weekly)

Ministries

One of the greatest joys that we experience as Christians is found in serving one another. CCF has various ministries that we organize every term to give people an opportunity to minister & serve Brothers & Sisters, the greater CCF, and the UW Campus as a whole. 1 Peter 4:9-11

The following list contains various ministries in which you can get involved in serving this fellowship. We want to challenge by calling each of you to action! God has blessed you with many gifts to glorify Him, therefore use them to further His Kingdom!

  • AV/Media Team
Every serving has a purpose, and this purpose of serving one another is more than pure joyfulness – we are all taking part in enlightening God’s Kingdom. The serving of AV is very different from other ministries. We provide solid backstage support for Friday night worships, Grad Dinner and retreats. It is a ministry that involves physical work and special skills, and yet it will leave you a heart of serving that filled with fulfilment and joyfulness. As well as working with visual media and videos on the computer in order to enhance the use of media (audio and video) for Friday night programs. If you are interested in serving the CCF community in a different side of CCF, I encourage you to join my league and serve the community from inside out through the AV/Media Team! 1 Peter 5:2Please contact Clare Mok at (claremok522@gmail.com) for more info!

  • Caring Ministry
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7

Using this verse as our basis, this ministry’s goal is to show the love of God to those around us, particularly within the fellowship. The ultimate purpose would be to make this ministry redundant, something that occurs spontaneously and undirected under our own individual initiatives.

As a single body of Christ, we are called to share in one another’s struggles and triumphs, to support, encourage and edify our brothers and sisters. However, many of us know that University makes it all too easy for us to get wrapped up in our own worlds of assignments, exams and relationships and forget about those around us. This term, we will continue to serve each other with traditional CCF acts of caring such as welcoming team, congee runs, and exam time cooking in addition to establishing a new focus on integrating a lifestyle of caring into our everyday lives.

If you are interested in serving in caring ministry, please email Clarissa Leung (clarissa8886@gmail.com) or Joanna Tang (tangjoanna29@gmail.com).

  • Outreach Ministry
The love of Jesus Christ is so precious. It brings us joy and happiness in the most difficult of times and helps us with our daily walks.

This term in Outreach Ministry we hope to foster that love so that it may naturally overflow to those around us! Let us share the Good News to our friends and colleagues on campus as He has commissioned us to do. We must carry the Gospel message to the ends of the earth and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).

Alongside a group of brothers and sisters who share the same passion for the lost and needy, we will be equipping and challenging each other with preparation through sharing, studying of the word, and testimonial workshops for personal evangelism. Let us challenge one another to be bold for Christ and to truly live out His love through action (James 2:14).

If you are interested in serving in outreach ministry, please email Diana Trieu (d.trieu23@gmail.com) or Dave Yew (highlighterdave@gmail.com).

  • Prayer Ministry
Everything starts with prayer. At this very moment someone, somewhere is praying; maybe through word, thought, flowing through a pen or painted on a wall, they’re speaking to their creator.

Prayer is the key to the heart of God. Prayer is the only way to a real and personal relationship with God. Prayer is a natural expression of faith as breathing is of life.

There are a number of regular prayer meetings that happen throughout the week:

    • Sundays, 8pm, SLC 3rd Floor (General Prayer)
    • Wednesdays, 7:30am, SLC 2nd Floor (Intercession Prayer for Missions and Outreach)

We invite anyone who desires to receive prayer from members of the prayer team to come to these meetings.

Please join us in making a commitment to pray for our fellowship, our campus and our world. If you are interested in serving in the prayer ministry, please contact Michael Chan at (waterlooccf@gmail.com)

  • Promotions Ministry
Have you ever wondered why there are so many posters on campus, but none for CCF?

Do you wish to see CCF more visible on campus?

The purpose of the promotions ministry is to be able to spread and expand our fellowship and sharing our faith throughout campus. This ministry will allow you to use your art skills to creatively design banners and posters around campus.

If you are interested in serving in promotions, please email us at waterlooccf@gmail.com

  • Worship Team
You like music? Of course you do. You like God? I see you nodding your head. Well, have we got a little somethin’ somethin’ for ya. That’s right, for all of you who are interested in leading worship or have led worship in the past, this is your opportunity to help fulfil the following:Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers (brothers and sisters of CCF) will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. John 4:23Whether you can sing, play guitar, or do neither, worship is a ministry that goes beyond music and instruments. Come and discover with us what it means to worship God in spirit and in truth, and how we can apply this to our daily walk with God.If you are interested in serving in the worship ministry and jamming to your heart’s content, please email Sean Dy (sean100389@gmail.com), Simon Ho (simon.j.ho@gmail.com), or Jason Chan (jayc1515@gmail.com).

  • Investigative Bible Study: "Who is Jesus?"

For updates and contact information, click here!

    Meeting Times:
Tuesdays 5:00-6:30pm, Saturdays 1:00-2:30pm (note: both sessions cover the same material)

    Purpose:
At its core, Christianity is about a person and that person is Jesus Christ. Investigative Bible Studies aim to explore what Christianity is all about by looking at the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus.

    Audience:
The studies are geared toward those who desire to know and understand the fundamentals of Christianity (whether as a professing Christian or non-Christian). We assume little or no prior knowledge about the Bible.

    Details:
We typically meet once a week on campus for about 1h to 1h30m. We will be looking through select passages in Luke’s account of Jesus. Like any good investigation, we will approach the study with many questions concerning the characters and circumstances in the text. At the same time, we will be keeping a larger question in mind: “Who is Jesus?”
