Winter Retreat (updated)!

Our Retreat this term will be taking place the weekend of Jan 20-22. We will be leaving to the retreat location on Jan 20 (Friday Night).

The cost of the retreat is $130.

You will also need to fill in this physical form and bring it along with your money to the retreat!

We are in need of DRIVERS, so if you have a car (in Waterloo or in Toronto), and you can drive, please PLEASE volunteer on the form =). Thanks!

You will need a sleeping bag or at least blankets+pillow+sheets, so please get them if you can. If you don’t have either, contact us and we’ll see what we can do!

UWCCF Insight

Insight is a publication that CCF puts out every term. It is an opportunity for anyone in the fellowship to write words of encouragement and edification (or Insights) to other brothers and sisters!

We are looking for an editor to help create the layout and organize the articles! Contact us at waterlooccf@gmail.com if you are interested!

The deadline for submission of articles is NEXT MONDAY, December 5!

Feel free to write about anything that you want to share! Advice, School, Convictions, Lessons, Theology, Faith, and on! Insight is an opportunity for you to share to the rest of the fellowship if you didn’t get the opportunity throughout this term!

If there are not enough articles submitted, then Insight will be cancelled for the term.

Men’s Brunch!

So the girls had a brunch this past weekend, and not it’s us Men who get to hang out over a meal full of ~~bacon~~ good food! It will be held near the end of term, before exams!

Operation Christmas Child

If you haven’t heard of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) before, it is an annual event organized by Samaritan’s Purse. Basically, they ask people to make put a variety of gifts or items that children in less fortunate countries would find useful (ie. school supplies, toys, hygiene items, etc) and put these in a shoe box. They then distribute these to children who do not normally get any gifts for Christmas.

More importantly, they use that opportunity to potentially be able to share the gospel to these children and reach out to their families. For more information on the organization, please check out their website here: http://samaritanspurse.ca/Operation-Christmas-Child/default.aspx .

CCF will be collecting shoe boxes (from you guys) as well as promoting and collecting OCC shoe boxes on campus. If you are interested in filling a shoe box, we will have brochures and shoe boxes this Friday.

The week that OCC collects the shoe boxes is Nov 21-27 . So you can return packed shoeboxes to us on CCF Friday this week and next week.

Update! As mentioned, we will also be having a booth to promote Operation Christmas Child starting this Thursday as well as next week. We need YOUR help to man the booth! Please fill in this spreadsheet with the time slots you can volunteer for as well as your email!

This Friday: Missions Night!

We will be having New Tribe Mission over Friday night, to share about the work of missions that God has called them to do. As well, we will get the chance to hear the stories and testimonies of some of our own brothers and sisters in CCF who have gone on missions this past summer/year! Come out and let’s be encouraged to spread the good news that God has given to us!
