At its core, Christian apologetics is the study and development of a reasonable defense for the Christian faith. As Christians, we are called to be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks us for a reason for the hope that is in us. However, apologetics is often abused, and aggressive arguments or debates can end up hurting rather than helping. This is why in the same passage from 1 Peter 3:15-16, we are also called to defend our faith in a gentle and respectful manner. Come on Monday to learn about defending our faith in a proper way, as this is becoming more and more important in the age of “reason.”
